Choral Arts Ensemble’s concert season will close with music for the springtime from some of America’s favorite composers and folk traditions. Guest conductor Matthew Culloton will lead the singers in a program that includes traditional concert works, including Aaron Copland’s "Lark" and Cecil Effinger’s "Four Pastorales" for choir and oboe, and favorite folk songs like "She’ll Be Comin’ Round the Mountain", "The Gift to be Simple", and "Shall We Gather at the River". Two premieres will also be featured on the program, including a new work by Brian Holmes, the winner of our third annual CAE Commissioning Contest, and a new folk song arranged for CAE by Matthew Culloton.
